Os copio una noticia aparecida en el OffBeat de este fin de semana de Mardi Gras.
Antes de nada, hay que ponerse un poco en antecedentes, y para ello os pongo un enlace de un post antiguo mio acerca de los Mardi Gras Indians y sus tradiciones.

Monday night, Big Chief Monk Boudreaux and New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival producer Quint Davis distributed feathers, plumes and marabou to over 140 Mardi Gras Indians at Tipitina’s. Indians from all over the city signed up in December and between them, they received 250 pounds of ostrich plumes, 1500 lengths of marabou, 21 pounds of quills, six pounds of drabs (small plumes) and three pounds of fluffs (small turkey feathers used to tip a quill feather). The stage at Tipitina’s was covered with boxes, and two women retrieved large yellow bags with the Indians’ orders when Davis called out the box number and order. While eight days before Mardi Gras might seem a little late for such a delivery, Gina Montana, queen of Yellow Pocahontas said it was right on time. “I’ve been sewing and constructing,” she says. “I’ll be sewing to the last minute, but I can get it done in five to seven days.”
